At the heart of this expansion is Duet Mode, a fresh two-player format that adds a layer of creativity to competitive gameplay.
Players will engage on a unique Duet Map, utilizing tokens to claim habitat spaces while aiming for exclusive end-of-round objectives. This new dynamic encourages more interaction and strategic planning between opponents. In addition to the Duet Mode, the Asia Expansion introduces an array of new avian characters.
The birds featured in this update come with distinct powers, unique scoring opportunities, and delightful quirks, each enriched with fun facts emphasizing regional significance. Players will also encounter 13 new bonus cards designed to diversify long-term goals, with two cards specifically tailored for Automa, the solo mode AI. Visually, the Asia Expansion maintains Wingspan’s signature meditative aesthetic.
It includes four new regional backgrounds, eight new player portraits, and four original music tracks by composer Pawel Górniak, all crafted to enhance player immersion.
