Marvel Snap is taking players on a nostalgic journey back to high school with its latest May season, which features the New X-Men. The game is buzzing with excitement as players welcome new characters, including the ambitious Esme Cuckoo, electrifying Surge, and the strategic Prodigy. These characters promise to shake up gameplay with innovative strategies and fresh dynamics. Esme Cuckoo stands out in this season’s lineup as a telepathic clone of Emma Frost.
Her unique On Reveal ability allows players to draw a card from their deck, adjust its cost to three, and boost its power to four. This clever mechanic adds a new layer of strategy, as players can manipulate their resources for maximum impact. Alongside Esme, a new Series 5 mutant will be added each week, creating varying tactics and challenges as the month progresses. Upcoming characters include Surge, Prodigy, Elixir, and Xorn.
The game introduces two new locations this month: Pit of Exile and Genosha. Pit of Exile disrupts large power combos early on, encouraging players to craft leaner decks and think creatively about their moves. Meanwhile, Genosha sets the stage for intense final turns, eliminating all but the highest-cost card to intensify gameplay. These new locations are sure to transform how players approach their decks.
In addition to exciting gameplay changes, Marvel Snap is launching three new collection albums this month.
