June’s Journey has introduced the Nature Trails Challenge as part of the 2025 Green Game Jam, inviting players to engage in environmentally impactful gameplay. From June 4th to June 17th, participants will embark on a mission in East Africa to rescue a baby hippo while tracking down 16 million animal footprints.
This goal is not just ambitious; it is also geared towards making a difference. Should the community successfully uncover the required animal tracks, Wooga will contribute to wildlife habitat preservation by saving 800,000 square feet of habitat and planting 25,000 trees.
In recognition of the players’ efforts, those who complete the challenge will receive an exclusive decoration known as the Curious Onlooker, inspired by this year’s Green Game Jam theme, “Nurture Yourself with Nature.” Throughout the event, players will have the opportunity to unlock themed rewards and decorate their islands with a variety of seasonal items as they uncover hidden objects and secrets.
Notable rewards include the Hippo Family decoration, along with a vibrant new background for the island. Players can also access unique additions such as the Gentle Giraffes and the Wild Dog Pack through different in-game activities.
Additionally, on June 16th and 17th, a special offer called the Trail of Trees will be available, which features tree-themed decorations to enhance the natural aesthetic of players’ islands. As part of the wider Green Game Jam initiative, participants can also join the #AllInForNature campaign, which encourages players to leave supportive messages for nature.
If a total of 100,000 messages are collected, they will be presented to global policymakers as a testament to the gaming community’s commitment to environmental protection. This marks Wooga’s fifth year in the Green Game Jam, highlighting how a simple hidden object game can drive significant action for the planet.
